Kawau for the Weekend

It is Friday of a long weekend. We said goodbye to our cat Wax today. It was very sad but he did have a wonderful life and was loved by many.

We needed to get out of the house so we joined our friends Mike and Karen on a trip to their holiday home on Kawau Island. We took Mike's boat from Sandspit across to the island.

Here is a shot taken by me from their house looking down on Mike as he prepares to make the boat safe for the night on a line attached to a post. This keeps the boat free from their wharf to avoid in bumping against their jetty overnight.

It really is an idyllic spot with an excellent set up right on the water.
