The Only Tree

A Silver Birch, now a good 60 feet high,I have been enjoying for all my years in this house.It's the only tree in my road and stands on the opposite side of the street from me. Various folk on the road have muttered about it for years, declaring it "dangerous ", "it'll come down in a storm" " should be chopped down".
I did wonder if last nights storm would bring it down on my roof, but here it still is.
It catches the last of the evening light and I've been trying to get a good enough pic for days.
It has now been officialy declared dangerous, so will be chopped down.It was to happen while I was in the Hebrides, but someone nameless on the street, managed to ignore the request to remove their car, so the dirty deed couldn't happen. I was happily surprised to find it still here on my return!.
The date is now set for november!
