Zandbak
This is my youngest nephew, Cormac (six) in the sandpit in the play area of their village, Geesteren, in the Netherlands. The boys showed us around the village, leading the way on their bikes, while we followed on foot. There were many stops while they jumped back and forth over ditches; climbed the school climbing frame; dug trenches in the sand pit, and took us down an avenue of "rich houses". The area looks prosperous and well kept, and in case we forget the time, the church clock opposite not only tolls the hour, but also plays a carillion (a little tune on many bells) during working hours. I must go and watch the carillion during the day. Callum (ten) says the bells ring so fast you can't see them ring at all.
Here, Cormac is showing us how to throw a ball of compressed sand. I exported the image to Distressed FX, and put it into HDR B&W. We have had a lazy day but we needed it after travelling for more than twelve hours yesterday. The wind has died down, but the only evidence of storm damage were a few torn tree limbs and some toppled blue wheelie bins. Off to join the others now, I've had to leave the kitchen in order to get a wifi connection, but I don't want to miss out on family time.
PS The boys saw the final image, and said "Why have you made it grey?" and "he looks like a statue".
