Viking Cathedral
Spent a good amount of time enjoying the peaceful environment of St Magnus Cathedral.
Some history: "St. Magnus Cathedral dominates the skyline of Kirkwall, the main town of Orkney, a group of islands off the north coast of mainland Scotland. Known as the 'Light in the North', it is the most northerly cathedral in the British Isles and was founded in 1137 by the Viking, Earl Rognvald, in honour of his uncle St Magnus. It is owned not by the church, but by the burgh of Kirkwall as a result of an act of King James III of Scotland following Orkney's annexation by the Scottish Crown in 1468."
Later, we headed to St Margaret's Hope and witnessed some incredible weather on the horizon; the light bleeding through dark rain clouds. You can see more photos here.
