Bridge of Sighs

To the Arsenale today for more art and then a walk up to St Marks Square. It was the Venice Marathon today, they build a temporary bridge across the Grande Canal as well as ramps over the last few bridges.

We saw the winner cross the line and then headed up towards St Marks getting squashed at the Bridge of Sighs in a badly managed bottle neck. A photo shoot in St Marks Sq, gelato and a trip to Harry's Bar before heading back to the Lido for a late lunch and a trip to the beach.

A final evening wander through Venice, more spritz, some shopping, a bit of getting lost and licking the window of the best shoe shop ever! As we headed back for the vaporetto I spotted another visitor from Glasgow in St Marks, it's a small world and an all to brief weekend.
