Yesterday I made the definitive THING. It's very delicious. It is so delicious I shall share it: Roll out some left over rough puff pastry, spread with butter, sprinkle with spiced sugar you've found in the darkest corner of the pantry, sprinkle with a thicker layer of ground almonds then dollop spiced stewed russet apples on top Roll up into a sausage, cut into rounds, sprinkle with more spiced sugar and bake. Hide from the children, but don't eat two just before you go to bed. You'll have a tummy ache in the morning. Apparently.
