Backyard Green

As the leaves fall off the trees in many places, I'm grateful for my constantly green backyard. Sure, dry season's heat will make the water (hiding under the carpet of green floating plants in this shot) evaporate, but it's always mostly green.

As I was taking this, a couple of the guys were hunting down a snake behind me. It had slithered next to the building, behind some buckets and tools. One of the girls was standing on top of a low table, while other onlookers kept their distance. Usually, if the snake is found, it becomes dinner. Not because we have nothing else to eat, but because a live snake will eat our ducks and chickens, scare our girls all of us, and bite anyone who gets close.
