How long or short is a week?

The day before we knew of such things

The day such things became manifest

The day I thought I might break, but for the love of others

The longest day, that started in despair but ended with calm

The day that began exhausted & empty & ended full and complete

The day we laughed and felt normal

The day we had breakfast with a bump & dared to dream of home

The day before today, when we left the hospital and life began again.
