Specs-tacular

I have new glasses.
They are varifocals.
I hate them.

These are all my specs!

I really want the varifocals to work out. This lot includes:
2 x prescription sunglasses
3 x long distance specs
1 x reading glasses
1 x intermediate glasses (for computer- wearing now)
1 x bifocals for office work - computer and reading sections
1 x new varifocals

I was hoping to make them all redundant (except the sunnies) with this new pair but I can't do anything with them. I can see OK through the top (distance) part as long as I stand still. If I try to move my head, the world tips viciously from side to side like a cross channel ferry in a Force 9. I can't see the screen at all in them - it's all a blur - and I can read, one word at a time, just about.

People tell me they take a while to get used to, but I can't see how I will be able to get used to them - I can't stand still all day! I can't move in them or I will fall over.
