An old wooden cigar box...
makes a wonderful plein air paint box for my watercolors. The lid pops up for a fairly sturdy easel and it holds quite a few paints and odds and ends. I use a different set up for my pastels but this is nice and light for things that are less fragile. On the easel... a trout I've been working on. The table that it is sitting on came from the farmhouse that my husband's granparents had in the prairies of Saskatchewan. Just in case you were wondering why it looks so battered...it's well over 100 years old.
