My photos are going to get worse before they.....

get better.

I have had no spare time recently. Fitting in two hours in the morning for my photography course means we have been running around like mad getting ready for our friends to arrive.

So today we covered the different types of metering among other things. I really have to practice all these technical things I am learning to make the most of the course. I am trying very hard not to fall back into my comfort zone with the camera (Where I know I can get a good shot). So today it was a matter of time. The only time we could fit in some shots was in the middle of the day with stupid bright light.

So here is a picture I was experimenting with spot metering on Maple's face. The background didn't add to the picture so although not a typical use of spot metering, I was trying to overexpose the background. Not a great shot at all but as I said, things are going to look a bit interesting for awhile in order for me to improve!
