Cretan Wall Lizard

Postcards from Crete 7

This is the Cretan Wall Lizard Podarcis cretensis it is endemic to the island of Crete and we were lucky enough to see one.

The only other reptiles we saw were gecko's which lived on the outside walls of the villa and came out at night to catch moths around the lights. I think they have snakes here too but luckily we did not see any.

I thought this little lizard was quite cute
