The Edge
Day 2 of our ski weekend and another cracker. Sunny, no wind, and perfect snow. Surprisingly for a Saturday there weren't any significant crowds, sometimes you had to wait at least 5 minutes ;-)
Today our friends son decided it was time to move up to the T-bar and he and Adam started skiing together. After a few false starts they mastered riding the T together, and then were off. Which worked well for me, I'd do a run with them, then do a high speed rip down the groomed stuff, and off into the powder. Glorious glorious skiing.
Hannah ventured up the T-bar a few more times and did very well, but her friend was skiing the poma, so she mostly skied the lower slopes. Nonetheless, a few good family runs, in a superb location as you see.
I ended the day with another downhill ride, but resisted (due to fatigue) the ride back to Tekapo. Back at the house wine and cheese on the deck watching the sun set over the lake and mountains.
In fact we had a couple, as our neighbour advised us of a party they were having, complete with DJ. It wasn't as bad as expected, although the next day we noted a few groggy looking staff on the ski area ;-)
