Aesculus carnea

On my walks through the park this week I have been noticing the red horse chestnut trees in flower. They look lovely. Today was the first day that the wind wasn't blowing so hard that my photos were just a blur. I noticed that some of the flowers have yellow throats and some orange. As the orange ones seem to have slightly browner stamens I wondered if it was another case of a colour change after pollination to help the bees not to waste time.
