St Andrew's, Greensted

I went to visit my parents today but on the way I stopped a couple of times to take some pictures. St Andrew's, Greensted is an ancient log church in a hamlet on the outskirts of Ongar. Its tiny, full of character and loved and looked after by the community.

I liked this picture because of the contrasts in it; the newer (relative to the rest of the building)belfry against main body of the church, the different roofs, the glimpse of the log walls.

I also stopped at St Boltoph's in Beauchamp Roding. It is in the middle of a field and well away from the village (which moved due to the plague?) and is in need of some serious money spend on it yet its cared for and about by the small local community who ensure its opened daily.
