Bush Treat

Public holiday today = no work :) and neither of the young'uns worked today so off to the bush we went and what a treat it was! Lovely weather, great hike and some unexpected surprises. Like this Kiekie flower. They are usually not within sight since the plant grows high up into the bush canopy but the winter storms had left the bush in a fair old mess with us having to climb over fallen trees and find our way around unmountable obstacles! The fallen trees had taken quite a few of these Kiekies down and we were lucky to come across them at this time of the year. What a treat :D
And just for the record, these flowers are huge! About 20 cm across!
