Who pays the bills?

Late night blip tonight.

We have a string of old fishing and mining villages around Edinburgh which are holding an art festival celebrating their heritage. One wheez was to illuminate the iconic coal fired powerstation in a series of flowing coloured lights.

Now this raises an interesting point to ponder. When you light up a powerstation does the power come from that station or do you plug into the grid? Do you pay or do you get a feebie before the power leaves the building? I'll be up for the rest of the night trying to work that one out.
