An ordinary life....

After the Rain...

We headed off to Alan’s school not long after him this morning as he had an appointment with the wheelchair supplier to re-assess his wheelchair and make sure it still meets his needs.

The wheelchair service here is SO much better than the previous service we received before we moved house and I was delighted to see the return of the physio who originally assessed Alan for the chair. She is brilliant and has been on long term sick leave after an unfortunate skiing accident.

The wheelchair Alan has is heavy and very difficult to push uphill, especially as he’s getting bigger and heavier so we really need an attendant controlled power chair and I thought we’d have a bit of a fight getting one from the NHS. To our delight the physio agreed it would be a good idea but alas it’s not her decision to make. It never fails to amaze and disappoint me that the people who are in the best position to make the decision, aren’t allowed to, but let’s not get me started on that debate. Suffice to say, she is going to write a very supportive assessment and hopefully they will provide it.

On the way home the weather was rather strange. Sunny, misty, rainy and sunny again all within minutes. In the end I had the choice of three blips (a very rare occurrence for me!) and went with this one as I love how the sun hitting the new grass in the field makes is so bright and spring like against the autumn colours.

The other choices were...

Tower of Power
Lonely Tree

Home and my carrot and coriander soup and oat cookies are made, Alan is due home any minute and my friend Dorothy will be here in the next hour or so. Looking forward to an evening of catching up with her in cosy warmth, eating some good food and later perhaps a wee Baileys or two.

Happy Halloween Blip Pals xxx
