Happy Halloween

A dull and windy start to the day but the sun came out at lunchtime and stayed for a few hours before dulling down again and the wind hasn't eased.

A fine day off. Popped into Lerwick in the morning and then mam came over for lunch. Headed down to Cunningsburgh for a walk with Sammy dog and then headed down to the Sumburgh Lighthouse for a tour to see how the project was coming on :)

Halloween to me when I was youger was called Kale Kastin. We used to pull up neeps, kale or other veg and throw it in neighbour or friends door. This old tradition has died out now and Trick or Treat seems to have taken over. As bairns we went guizing on Christmas Eve.

I was trying to get a spooky image for today but this old house next door to where a grew up always had a spooky feel when we were bairns. It has been empty all my life and I think that added to the spookiness. Taken at Aith, Cunningsburgh.
