Wistful moments

Road to Applecross

After leaving Skye we drove back over the brge with the intention of heading back to the cottage back in Laide. We stopped off in a beautiful little town called Plockton where we took a stroll around the harbour and by chance got chatting to this amazing man. What a guy and it makes you feel so humble. I'm now following his journey on facebook and i'm donating to his cause. On his behalf i would ask you to take a look at his story if you have a minute. From Plockton we drove the very scenic route to Applecross once listed as one of the top 10 drives in the world and mentioned in the same sentence as Route 66!! I can understand why, it was absolutely breathtaking. To cap it all, as we pulled into a passing place to take yet more pictures i came face to face with a stag over the crash barrier with about another dozen deer grazing close by. Magnificent! That was it then. On seeing rare vacancies at the Applecross Inn a room was hastily booked and we enjoyed another fantastic meal with a glass of wine to round off the day. :-)
