Flight

On Tuesday, I was puzzled about a lone leafless tree - Today I investigated.

a) The tree is alive - it is a sycamore.
b) I seems healthy as it has many winged seeds still hanging from its branches.
c) Its roots have been partially undercut by extreme tides and the tree must be under some stress and probably lost its leaves a little early as a result
d) Other sycamore trees in the area have lost 80 to 90 percent of their leaves too and they are less exposed to the wind.
e) The greenness of Tuesday's blip is not from leaves still retained by trees, but by ivy which partially covers many of them.

Today's blip is the flight of steps by which I accessed the beach in question. The dark-green mass is ivy.
