Autumn stream
I was absolutely determined to get out this morning, and took myself off to the RSPB reserve at Middleton Lakes. I met a chap who certainly looked the part of a bird expert who told me there were Kingfishers down on the canal. I looked and looked and looked, and got a bit wet in the rain, but no sign of the Kingfishers. He'd also mentioned little egrets, but despite quite a wander I didn't see them, either. I'm sure I saw some cormorants, which I thought were coastal birds. I've looked at my very poor photos and did a bit of a Google, and I think they are Cormorants. Nothing wearing feathers really came within range, so as I made my way back to the car in the rain I stopped at a little bridge, using the handrail as a support for some shots of the stream. It was very wet and very blustery!
I hope you have a great week-end.
