Strange plant pot

I was determined to get out of the office at lunch time today in the hope of finding a picture to blip. I can't remember how many times I have walked past this building but I have never noticed this nifty little ledge, plant pot or the light. Wonder what the building was in an earlier life!

Not sure I have adjusted to the clocks going back last weekend -wide awake at 5am instead of my usual 6am, hope it settles down soon, I'm shattered by tea time.
