Whitley Bay

Left York to head home, taking account of the weather forecast, which indicated that for a rain-free trip we should head northeast.

We hot-footed wheeled up to Whitley Bay, stopping there for coffee and to watch the waves breaking against the sandbank as the tide rushed in (quite sparkly in large). St Mary's lighthouse is in the background.

The forecast was correct, we're home and dry, having had a most enjoyable trip.
