Changed times

Went over to Olney today to visit my Mum.

In Northampton, en route, I saw someone eating an iced bun. It made me nostalgic so I went and bought one. When I was at school, aged about 10, I sometimes bought a bun on the way home. A plain bun cost one old penny - 1d - and an iced one 2d. This one - admittedly bigger than iced buns in those days - cost 75p! And was called a Swiss Bun - I think this is the influence of The Great British Bake-Off!!!

I have to admit that I ate a second cake later on when I met up with my old friend Ros!
