I liked the way the walled pathway seemed to be holding at bay the aggressive incursion of the woodland.

Another baking experiment today - attempting a malt loaf, taught me two key lessons:

1. Read the instructions carefully before starting.

2. Measuring quantities of malt extract and treacle is fiendishly difficult.

It is proving at the moment but looks nothing like it should do. I'll give it plenty of time whilst watching England v Australia. I am not optimisitic about either.

PS. The malt loaf turned out ok. Not pretty but edible. And England won. Oh, we of little faith!
