Shield Bug

Another stonking Saturday! I really live for my weekends at the moment!

Thankfully I was feeling myself again today.

Gina had been invited to go to the zoo in a couple of weeks time for a friend's baby's 1st birthday. I am going to be at work when this happens and I wasn't happy about missing Miles' first trip to the zoo, so we decided to go to Werribee open range zoo (a bit like a safari park thing), so that I got to show Miles some animals and Gina wasn't going to the same place twice in two weeks (she'll be going to Melbourne zoo).
Miles was really, really excited on the 'safari' part, where they take you round in a bus/train and show you the giraffes and rhinos... He was almost interested in the zebra, but mainly he loved that I was letting him stand on my knees as we drove around.. he's such a funny little guy.

We stopped on Lygon street for some icecream too, and Miles was allowed a taste. Let's just say that he's obviously his father's son and was very... erm... receptive to having another small lick (trying to grab the cone out of my hand!!).

I blipped Miles covered in food a couple of days back, and although I took some nice shots of the animals, I think it's more of a challenge to blip 'wild' animals... so we have this shield bug instead of Miles or the giraffes!! He was just hanging out on a bush that we liked. There was a good section in the park about native, low-water plants, so we took some notes for our garden when we finally move in. We want to do it properly!

After Miles' bedtime routine I set off to the Union for a gig - we played pretty well (even without Steve) and sold a few tickets to the album launch, so we're happy with that! I'm blipping this after I got home... time for bed!!
