Washing away..

You take a shower. You put on the tap and wait for the warm water to fill the pipes. Maybe you stand there for a while and let the water fondle your skin. You take the soap and start to wash away the dirt. But what is it you actually want to flush away...?

Often we take a shower after a log day at work. We take a short time of relaxation. Maybe we want to wash the sweat of our bodies. Is it always the sweat, or is there some more?

Getting clean is a ritual, a spiritual too. By washing away dirt we also wash our minds. It is important to mind and take a closer look over our ritual: The mind is maybe trying to wash away something we haven't even realized yet. An ugly word expressed to a loved one, a bunch of evil thoughts towards a friend, or maybe a mishmash of things you don't want to keep in your brain.

Taking a shower and actually meditating for a while could be healthy. Next time you take a shower, think about all the stuff you keep locked inside your mind, and concentrate - wash all them away, all the thoughts that don't need further handling. This helps you to ease stress and let the unnecessary things shutting your thinking go away. Maybe you find new sides of yourself. This is also a so called way of reaching mind fullness.

Try it. Take a shower. Imagine the dirt coming off. Imagine your mind getting lighter. Take a time looking down to the sewer and think what you just flushed away. Then let all of it go. Vanish.
