The Monastery of the Holy Cross

I was fascinated by this monastery which-from where I was sitting-just appeared to be hanging on the hillside. I sat on the opposite shore on Kantouni beach near Elies on Kalymnos and watched it slowly disappear into the darkness. For all I know it could have been lowered down on strings from above during the day and taken back into the sky at night. I never got to walk to it but maybe next time.
