At Hereford: Flavours of Herefordshire

Nothing can fully produce the taste of Herefordshire as much as a bee can. These helpful collectors of the counties pollen are an underestimated asset to the local food industry. Herefordshire's Bee Keeping Association's stall was set out, (and I thought appropriately) in All Saints Church. Mead being the nectar of the monks all those years ago, today.... Terry Ashley, Judges the purity of the Mead. Mead is fermented Honey, in yeast, mashed grains and water. The flavour is developed on what the bee's harvest, but also what herbs and flavours the bee keeper may add.

Mead is a pure wine. It is, what it is.... and it tastes clean and healthy too. No wonder the monks took a liking to it. Terry and the Herefordshire Bee Keepers have me hooked too..x
