This potted Slipper Orchid has been in my possession for a number of years without any maintenance expect for the occasional douse of water. Every year it flowers profusely often with ten or twelve orchid blooms.

I loaded a photo of it in full bloom earlier this year (see May 20). Imagine my surprise when recently a "Maiden Hair Fern" began to sprout from the drain hole in the bottom of the pot.
Upon the initial appearance I thought it should be removed, however leaving it to flourish has now revealed this result.
Most unusual but interesting.
