Into the woods

The main destination for our trip was a holiday flat at the top of a farmhouse in the Black Forest. We arrived just after dark on the Monday and spent the next three days exploring. First thing to do on the Tuesday was, obviously, go for a walk. Our host was a little bewildered when I asked her if there was a particular walk she could recommend - "you can walk anywhere", she replied. So we did. We followed the road up to find a path along the top of the ridge, from where we could look down on the tops of trees, and gaze up at others. It was magic. We didn't manage the complete loop - little legs were getting tired - but it was certainly a fine introduction to the area.

I struggled all week with getting my camera to take pictures that accurately caught the colours of the trees and the sky... Mostly I had to settle for one or the other - perhaps it is time I read that instruction manual after all!
