Shining Wires

Another day in paradise with brilliant sunny skies. I wanted to capture the shining wires in the Meadowbank vineyard today because in a few days the view will be quite different. The vineyard manager has told me that they will be busy installing “Growguards” around each tiny individual vine. You can see the tinyvines close to the ground each bearing a little collection of leaves. The Growguards are little sleeves of either a type of plastic or else waxed cardboard. These guards protect the tiny vines from the likes of rabbits, sprays and strong drying winds. It will be interesting to photograph them as they are being installed.
We are getting near to Guy Fawkes Day here. Just why we celebrate this occasion is beyond me. Fireworks are already being detonated in our neighbourhood and poor Fergus is a nervous wreck. Panting and scared and hanging around close by me. He is hiding under my desk as we speak. The Gypsy is not so affected and the cats don’t seem to care about the noise. It’s all a bit of a pain and I wish firework sales to private individuals could be banned!
