Leonardo

Visited the Leonardo da Vinci Exhibition in the old Post Office in Rotterdam.. Truly astonishing to see some of the drawings of machines made by da Vinci actually constructed and working - even including a film of someone making a parachute jump with a Da Vinci designed parachute.

This is his idea of a diving suit, which he thought could be used by an underwater army attacking the hulls of enemy ships, I liked the explanatory notice which said that when built and tested the suit 'almost' worked, not very reassuring for the test diver !

Also an interesting display of the Mona Lisa based on very high resolution photographs, where they had Photoshopped away the discoloration and age damage to the paint to show what the original would have looked like all those centuries ago.
