Down in the woods

I went for a lovely walk in the woods this afternoon. They appear to be clearing huge sections and thinning the trees so the ground was covered in fallen branches. At times it was almost impossible to find the original path and some areas were completely altered so nothing looked familiar. It was quite an adventure exploring the new-look woods and it was lovely to feel the squelch of the leaves in the mud beneath my boots and smell the scent of wood in the air. It was a refreshing and uplifting walk.
