Sleeping Dragon (can you see it?)
After last nights uproarious fun over the road (Twisted Grimms fairytales - these guys really know how to decorate a house including complete paper mache tree sculptures outside, hallway lined with branches a-la Norwegian Wood, a 3 storey vine rising through the stairwell, not to metion the dry ice, pinball machines and near catastrophic firework display. Good work chaps) we had an easy day.
My voice still not being what it should be I had to 'make a judgement call' and decided not to head to St James' at Lancaster Gate and therefore pass up my first opportunity to sing the Durufle Requiem which I was reluctant to do but knew eventually that it was the right decision to have a restful day.
Instead we went for a short (and slightly chilly) walk around the Isobella Plantation in Richmond Park which is never a let down no matter what time of year we go. In fact it is one of our favourite places, being just down the road an' all. Amongst the mild storm tidying that was going on were a million colours with trees changing everywhere you looked. Todays light was just a pristeen perfect Autumn glow and cutting through the trees I came back with 115 half decent shots to wade through. Add to that the pre-cull Stags mooing (am sure they can moo - that's what it sounded like) and the acorns ready to make a nice 'plop' as they get thrown into the pond and you have a perfect walk full of 'tree-faces' (seeing faces in bark/branch patterns), log monsters, missing ducks, Deer-hunger-games, Neil-the-seagull-whisperer, Milo's tree, no parakeets, and a rarely-found shack.
Then back home for toasted marshmallows (over the hob flame) and belly pork.
Nice.
