The river again
This was sort of first thing, well the first thing I did this morning after the kids kindly allowed us a very late and luxurious lie-in. So I was well rested for a lovely run through Chiswick House and along the river. So far since I have started running again the weather has been incredibly kind to me. I got a little wet yesterday and battled the winds on Monday but generally it has been sunny and bright and really rather lovely. As I sit here now listening to the pouring rain I suspect all that might be about to change.
But while it's here the sun has been very welcome. Mid-morning the boys headed off to J's football game and me and Anna went out for her to continue practising on her rollerblades. She's getting better and is sort of at that dangerous stage of possibly more confidence than technique which makes for a few hairy moments, though so far we are accident free. And fingers crossed it remains so.
Otherwise nice Sunday stuff included a splendid roast lamb dinner (with indulgent Yorkshire puddings but don't tell anyone), a game of junior Cranium in which we got trounced by the kids and even a game of hide and seek. The idyll was almost broken by the need for some actual parenting of the eldest but we seemed to come through that unscathed and all went to bed happily. It does seem that those people who always say it gets harder not easier may have a point. Annoyingly.
I must now get back to catching up with the National Theatre at 50 programme. If you didn't watch it and in any way love the theatre I highly recommend it.
