St Emilianos

The walk to St Emilianos takes about three hours from the main harbour on Symi. The final descent from the small chapel on the hill, Ioannis Theologhos, is a scrabble through a cypress forest along a watercourse which eventually opens out onto open countryside laced with herbs. On this day we were picked up by the Poseidon and continued our journey around the island by boat.
