A walk along the Horam to Heathfield stretch of the Cuckoo Trail this afternoon in glorious sun. The extending leads are working out really well with much less of the maypole effect. The Husband and I are getting efficient at ducking under and climbing over to avoid being tied together. We met some friendly dog walkers and the pups saw their first goats which they thought smelled wonderful. We managed to walk past some horses without incident other than a bit of woofing.

On the way home we stopped to look at the flooding where the River Cuckmere burst its banks. It's a regular occurrence and no gardens or houses were in trouble. Plenty of standing water around with more rain promised.
