Didsbury Library...
Looking more like a house of worship, Didsbury Library, designed by Henry Price and erected in 1915 has served the town for almost a century. After being approached by Alderman Fletcher Moss the library was built with money donated by Scottish-American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. A total of 2,509 Carnegie libraries were built between 1883 and 1929 in Britain, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Serbia, the Caribbean, Mauritius and Fiji.
