The Race That Stops A School

Today at work we had our major fundraising day known as 'Mission Day'. The children set up stalls in the playground and the rest of the school community came and contributed by playing and buying the goods on offer. The money that is raised goes to missions around the world so children can have the same opportunities that our children currently take for granted. We'll find out tomorrow exactly how much money was raised.
At the end of the day, we cleaned up and then all descended upon the Year 4/5/6 classroom to watch 'the race that stops a nation'......the Melbourne Cup. This photo was taken at the finish line with many teachers & children's hopes dashed or realised!
