Real Ale Train

Ale on a train! The Watercress line runs between Alton and Alresford stations in Hampshire on a section of track that was last used on the mainline in the 70s. They now run loads of different events on the track, including an ale train. We were originally going to go earlier in the year, but we forgot to book and it sold out, which is a shame as it would have been nice to see the countryside from the train. We did get to see a few fireworks, and the stations were all lit up, and it was really nice spying on the fancy dining steam train as it went past on the other tracks. There was a really good drunken atmosphere on the train; they had six different ales, and we were on there for about three hours; a big chunk of that was spent playing Uno. If only our train back to London had also been a steam train.
