Big Sticks on Porlock Beach

Remembered to take the camera down to the beach this morning. Sadly no seals today and the tide was right out so wasn't as dramatic looking as last night.

Headed down to Woolacoombe this aft after Gerty groaned up Porlock hill in first gear (1/4!) Drove across Exmoor and saw some beautiful wild ponies but torrential rain so no stopping for pics. Mr EG went in for a surf at Putsborough and I ventured out in the torrential rain to give the dogs a quick walk on the beach. I was the only person not in a wetsuit and I was soaked in a couple of minutes.

Sal, Rob, Helen, John and the boys had wimped out of camping and hired a static caravan which we were actually really glad of to get out of the wind and rain as we daren't put the awning up in such strong wind. After dinner at the pub, we skulked off to the campervan but got very little sleep as a massive storm came in off the sea and rocked the van all night. Scary!
