getting a handle on it . . .

yes, we chose the handles for our new kitchen cabinets!
We also had the papers notarized for the permits that must be acquired before the work commences . . . a few extra steps/papers because our home is along the river and in a flood zone. We do not anticipate work starting until about 6 weeks from now as bureaucracy is not known to be swift! More about this project in an earlier blip if you missed it - I imagine there will be a series of blips related to our kitchen renos as I will have lots of interesting photo ops!

Steven and I also shopped for the appliances we need - cooktop, microwave, regular oven & dishwasher. We were blessed to have an educated salesman who was recommended /works with our kitchen designer. Both Steven and I had a bit of a sticker shock when the oven was opened and we saw the price hanging there!! But we are now looking forward to a most modern oven/convection wall oven - with a smaller microwave/or convection wall oven combination that we did not even knew existed before! The ovens together include a free (beautiful!) dishwasher and free installation for everything plus the induction cooktop (also a new thing for us)-phew! Steve and I agreed on everything, did it in a timely fashion, learned new things and went out to lunch to celebrate!!
