Let the train take the strain

I was struck by the large advert by Haymarket Station. It is for East Coast rail and very imaginative, with the bike, Georgian doors and frequency of trains. By all accounts it is a good service and provides the Treasury with more money than any other rail franchise. That would seem to be great, as it is us, the people, who own the company. It was taken into public ownership when the last franchise holder, National Express, couldn't afford the payments. How ironic then, that the Government wants to "give" it back to private ownership.
