The poem celebrates the foiling of (Catholic) Guy Fawkes's attempt to blow up the (Protestant controlled) England's House of Parliament on November 5th 1605.

Fireworks all round us tonight.
This shot was taken nearby.
I liked the blur of the lights etc. and the rocket in the sky. A bit like a painting.

No bonfire and fireworks for us this year as our neighbours are on holiday.
So we are snug, inside.
Curried pork with red pepper and coriander , followed by apple and cinnamon crumble and whisky ice cream for tea!
