Autumn Gems
I love the abstract patterns that nature creates. This old rowan tree, gnarled by years of exposure to the Scottish weather, peeked over a garden wall I passed. From its branches hung an abundance of soft green lichen and beautiful bright red berries. A flock of fieldfare fed on the berries in the top branches, but on noticing my presence flew off to a near by tree - their rattling call filling the air as they went.
