Guy Fawkes Night

Guy Fawkes night celebrates the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot, when an attempt was made to blow up the State Opening of Parliament on 5th November 1605. Today, we still celebrate it with fireworks and bonfires.

In our case, we went to a nearby hilltop to watch the "official" local firework display, then got back to somewhere less cold as quickly as we could manage - our back garden.

This was the best of a rather poor series of photographs; it's one of the kids with a sparkler.
