Sukuma Wiki

Ahhh...one of the best staple foods ever invented - the Kale! I had never touched the stuff before arriving in Kenya. And I was none too enthused when introduced to this thing. Sliced into thin strips and fried with onion and tomato with a bit of salt and some chicken cube, it has grown on me and become one of my favourites!

And they grow everywhere! These were found in the office compound but you will find them growing just about everywhere!

As you can see, it has continued to rain for which we are eternally grateful. Yesterday the Indian community returned to work after celebrating their new year. They came with the delicious Indian sweets found around this time of year. I had a few too many but as it is only once a year, why not?

As for the photo...I would have loved to figure out how to get all of the droplets in focus. I have tried and failed (only managing to get the top right droplets in good focus) but if anyone has some advice, I would be so grateful. I also had to go heavy on the sharpness/finesse which I fear will distort if seen on a decent screen.
