Western Isles - a land of contrasts
Firstly I promised no birds today so I apologise for the two Swans in the foreground.
Today was one of those days that the Western Isles specialise in. You get a year's worth of weather in one day. Rain, sleet, sun and wind all compressed into a few short hours.
The light seems to come from all directions and none at the same time and I am not enough of a photographer to capture it fully.
However I enjoyed the contrast of the light here as well as the contrast of the swans in a natural environment overlooked by the state of the art missile tracking station at Ruabhal and all dominated by the mountains of South Uist made from some of the oldest rock in the world..
Hopefully I am not giving away any state secrets by naming Ruabhal..
